San Diego County Fair
Fairs aren’t my thing. Why go some place that makes you pay to get in, then makes you pay again for everything once inside? Why submit yourself to the flashing lights, the nauseating rides, the mobs of people and the ridiculous food?
Normally, I wouldn’t consider it. But, give me a couple of free tickets, easy access via the Coaster train, and the barrier to entry is eradicated. Oh, and promise me a corn dog. Yeah, I know I’ll have to pay for it. I don’t care. I love corn dogs. ☼

I concur. Corn dogs = the shit.
Also, congrats on taking carnival pictures that don’t look like the precursor to someone’s murder.
In fact, even if I wanted sinister, it would have been hard to get. I’m used to fairs being 100% shantytown: dusty, dirty, and creepy. But the SD Fair… it’s so glossy and tip-top. The landscaping is perfectly manicured, the palm trees sway pleasantly overhead. There’s concrete under your feet; it’s all just so pretty and clean.
Love these photos. Such great Americana!
Thanks, Marina (:
